As part of the run-up to the Stockholm+50 conference 2-3 June 2022, on 19 April UNDP supported the governments of Sweden and Portugal in organizing a high level event in Stockholm: “Blue Talks – The 2022 United Nations Ocean Conference and Stockholm+50 Conference: Building Bridges”.

Andrew Hudson, Head of UNDP Water & Ocean Governance Programme, joined Swedish, Portuguese and Kenyan ambassadors in sharing opening remarks.  Mary Matthews, Project Manager of the UNDP Ocean Innovation Challenge, shared perspectives on the role of innovation to address ocean challenges in the second of three panels.  Isabelle Lovin, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment for Sweden, made the concluding remarks.
